Nippon Matsuri 2019 at San Marino Jinja shrine


As usual, the 2019 brings to San Marino the Nippon Matsuri Japanese Festival.

From 28 to 30 June the Republic of San Marino will host the Nippon Matsuri, the edition 2019 titled Mix for Peace mixes the traditions of San Marino and Japan to promote a spirit of peace in the world.

Many events will take place in the historic centre of San Marino and at the San Marino Jinja shrine:

Friday 28 June

  • From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Photo exhibition Nagasaki Beyond from San Marino at Palazzo Pubblico – free admission
  • From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: food stalls with typical Japanese specialties Japan Stand at Piazza della Libertà
  • From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Extraordinary opening of the audience hall at Palazzo Valloni – free admission
  • From 6 p.m.: Shinto ceremony at San Marino Jinja

Saturday 29 June

  • From 11 a.m.: Welcome ceremony with exchanges of gifts and performances of traditional dances at Piazza della Libertà
  • From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Photo exhibition Nagasaki Beyond from San Marino at Palazzo Pubblico – free admission
  • From 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Cosplay in collaboration with San Marino Comics at the historic center of San Marino
  • From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: food stalls with typical Japanese specialties Japan Stand at Piazza della Libertà
  • From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Extraordinary opening of the audience hall at Palazzo Valloni – free admission
  • From 7 p.m.: Gala Banquet Celeste in collaboration with Ristorante Righi at Piazza della Libertà
  • From 9:30 p.m.: “San Marino and Japan: Mix For Peace” video mapping projections on the façade of public palace at Piazza della Libertà
  • From 9:30 p.m.: Parade of Japanese lanterns in the historic centre of San Marino

Sunday 30 June

  • From 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Cosplay in collaboration with San Marino Comics at the historic center of San Marino
  • From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: food stalls with typical Japanese specialties Japan Stand at Piazza della Libertà
  • From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Extraordinary opening of the audience hall at Palazzo Valloni – free admission
